My name is Carlone.

It’s pronounced ‘car loan’, but my friends call me CAP.

I am from Toronto, home of the 2019 NBA Champions, the Toronto Raptors. I went to the championship parade and it was truly a beautiful day for Toronto.

I'm a former music journalist, radio show host and magazine publisher with an undergraduate degree in Communications from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia. I also hold an MBA from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan.

I received the Distinguished International Student Scholarship from NCKU in Tainan, Taiwan. My thesis titled "How Organization Attractiveness Drives Millennial Job Seekers: Exploring Corporate Social Responsibility’s Influence on Job Pursuit Intentions" helped me develop a deeper appreciation for academic research methods and organizing and categorizing quantitative, qualitative and statistical evaluation data. The article was also accepted for publication in the International Journal of Business Innovation and Research in November 2021, so I am also a published author.

I have worked as an Account Manager in the field of experiential marketing in a client facing role with a list that included: Intuit Canada, Bayer Crop Sciences, Coca-Cola, The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO), Hot Wheels, Hot Wheels Skate and Nestle. I was promoted to Senior Account Manager, overseeing two coordinators, two interns and my client portfolio. Our work won a 2023 Ace Award for “Employee Engagement Internal Campaign of the Year’ for the Out Front campaign for Intuit Canada.

I created this site to connect the dots in my career (Account Management, Client Relations, Event Production and Event Logistics) and as a way for me to get back into creating content and writing.

EXTRAS are the side hustles I’ve done that help me flex my creative juices and have a little fun.

The blog section titled CAP’S DEN shares stories, from my time working in music (I was a Juno judge for the rap category *Kanye shrug*), marketing (I helped cover HMV at 333 Yonge St in Wu-Tang stickers and Wu-Tang police tape) and events (I’ve put together Canadian Music Week showcases, North by Northeast showcases and local artist showcases). I also tell tales from travelling across Canada and Southeast Asia (South Korea and Taiwan), moments of personal growth (I’ve been to the Landmark Seminar) and the human work of doing it all while living life, as you’re still doing it all.

Things I love: music, the ocean, stamps in my passport, Muay Thai kickboxing, a good stretch, group bike rides, road trips, cooking, baking, eating delicious food, great art, studying languages (I can speak four poorly), impressive design, developing new skills, creating art, do it yourself (DIY) projects, photography, classic films and stand up comedy.

I believe in corporate social responsibility, green energy initiatives, supporting local artists, pursuing your passions, caring about the customer, investing in ideas that matter, mentoring youth and continuous improvement.

Welcome.
